Some examples of a publisher include:
- Book publisher
- Network that broadcast a television show
- Organization responsible for creating content for a website
- Agency that created a government publication
The publisher would not be included for the following citations:
- Journal, magazine, or newspaper
- Self-published works
- Websites where the page title is the same as the publisher
- Websites that make content available but is not involved in publication of the content (YouTube, WordPress, databases like JSTOR, etc.)
